Christmas gift guides – Gifts under Β£20

Beauty gifts are great to receive, but can often be quite expensive. I’ve put together some of the best little gifts for under Β£20 that can be great for anyone on a budget or for secret santa!

ZOEVA Screen Queen Lip Crayon – Β£10 each (Beauty Bay, Selfridges, ZOEVA)

These lip crayons are only Β£10 each (Β£5.99-Β£6.99 if you get them while the Beauty Bay sale is on!) and come in four absolutely beautiful colours. The shades are universal and would look stunning on all skin tones and the shape of the lip crayon mean that it should be very easy to outline the lip.

ZOEVA Screen Queen Lip Crayon

Milani Baked Blush – Β£10 (Beauty Bay)

The Milani Baked Blushes are so pretty and really good value for such a pretty blush! I have Luminoso (which is their most famous shade) and have had it for years and even when I was using it every day, I’ve barely made a dent in it. A high end quality blush for a good price! At the moment, Beauty Bay is having a 30% off sale, and the blush is now Β£7!

Jordan Lipscombe x Beauty Bay Eyeshadow and Highlighting Palettes – Β£20 each

If you are interested in any of these colour stories, then these palettes could be for you! The colours are quite different to the usual palettes we’ve been seeing of late and after trying one of the Colour Theory palettes from Beauty Bay, I have faith that this palette will have really good pigmentation. The shades are perfect for autumn/winter and come in at Β£20 per palette. If you were to want to buy all three, there is a bundle that will save you Β£20 at the moment – Beautybay is 30% off! (Β£30 for all 3).

THIS WORKS Sleep Tight – Β£13 (Space NK)

Let’s bring a bit of self care into this! There is nothing more important than a good night’s sleep, so if you know someone that struggles to get their 8 hours, or just deserves a little treat then this is for them! I bought this for my sister last year and she said it made her get to sleep quicker (she usually lays awake for hours trying to get to sleep).

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Mini – Β£16 (Cult Beauty)

The Becca highlighters are famous for giving a beautiful glow, but the full sized ones are pretty pricey if you’re not sure whether the shade will suit you. The mini ones are small, but you use so little highlighter at a time that this will last ages. There is a shade for every skin tone and preference, including the new Vanilla Quartz shade (below) that you can only get as a mini!

Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipsticks – Β£6.99 (Boots, Superdrug)

The Maybelline Colour Sensational lipsticks are honestly among the best lipsticks I’ve ever tried. There is a massive variety of shades and finishes so you’ll be sure to find the shade you’re looking for. My favourite is 725 Tantalising Taupe, which is just the perfect pinky-nude for fair skin. This is definitely wearable if you’re darker too, all you need is a lip liner!Image result for tantalising taupe maybelline

Dr Jart+Β Shake & Shotβ„’ Rubber Hydro Mask – Β£8 (Selfridges, ASOS)

I am a massive Dr Jart fan and this face mask form the K beauty brand looks so much fun! The mask comes in 3 varieties – hydrating, firming and brightening. The idea is that you mix the contents into a gloopy mask, apply it and peel it off. You’ll probably have seen this all over Instagram from above with the creepy baby face, and I for one want to join in!

NYX Whipped Wonderland Shadow Set – Β£15 (Selfridges), Β£17 (Nyxcosmetics.co.uk, Boots, ASOS, Very.co.uk, Lookfantastic)

For whatever reason, this palette is Β£2 cheaper at Selfridges to every other retailer… and there’s no sale going on at the time of writing this (WEIRD). But regardless, this is a really nice little palette to create some really lovely, dramatic looks perfect for winter. There is a good mix of mattes and shimmers, with enough diversity to create different looks just by changing up the shimmers.

I hope you enjoyed my budget buys! There are loads of good sales on at the moment, including up to 30% off BeautyBay and 20% on ASOS when you use the code HELLO20, so don’t miss out!

Christmas gift guides – the skincare fanatic

Following on from my previous gift guide post, this one is for the skincare fanatic. I’ve created this one so that there are options for all budgets because hyped up skincare can often fall in the premium budget category, and frankly that isn’t accessible to everyone. So here’s a mix of my high and low skincare suggestions suitable for a mixture of skin types!

REN – Stop Being So Sensitive kit – Β£22 (Cult Beauty, Fabled, Selfridges, Naturisimo)

I’ve tried a few things from the REN EverCalm range now, and it’s all amazing. It’s so nourishing for the skin and is amazing quality. In the UK, REN is not an overly expensive brand, and this little kit gives you a great introduction to the brand. The EverCalm range is their line that targets sensitive skin, but anyone with normal-dry skin can also use it and love it. The day cream will become your new favourite, and their cleansers look absolutely beautiful. I’m pretty convinced that after trying something from this line, you will repurchase the full size.

Emma Hardie Skin Cleansing Kit – Β£30 (Cult Beauty, ASOS, Marks & Spencer)

If you have never tried the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm and have always wanted to, this is a great way to test the product out without shelling out for the Β£50 full size. Not only do you get the cleansing balm and a super soft cloth (which will change your life), but you also get the Rosehip exfoliating seeds that even out texture and tone the skin.

Fresh Beauty – Masks for Miles – Β£69 (fresh.com/UK)

If you are a mask obsessive, you will love this gift set by Fresh. This set includes the Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask, the Lotus Rescue Mask, the Rose Face Mask and the Sugar Face Polish. These are the mini size products that are 30ml each, and if you were to purchase these individually, it would come to Β£92 (Β£21 each for Lotus, Rose and Sugar Polish, Β£29 for Black Tea). So you get a massive saving of Β£23! You basically get a mask for free which is fab!

Yu Ling – Jade Facial Rollers – Β£12 (Cult Beauty)

I have been wanting one of these for ages! Rollers have loads of uses, from helping to boost circulation and de-puff the eye areas to eliminating toxins and relieving stubborn headaches. I’ve seen a lot of people use these rollers over sheet masks to work the essence a little deeper into the skin and to add to the self care element and give yourself a little massage – joining skincare and self-care!Yu Ling Rollers Jade Facial Roller (Small)OMOROVICZA – Christmas Intro Set – Β£65 (Cult Beauty, Space NK, Lookfantastic)

Omorovicza is a super high end Hungarian skincare brand that looks absolutely beautiful, but lets face it, is not accessible to everyone. BUT, this minis set lets you try out a lot of their products and get a good feel for the brand without going bankrupt! In this set, you get the Thermal Cleansing Balm, Deep Cleansing Mask, Cleansing Foam, Elemental Emulsion and the famous Queen of Hungary Mist. The set is valued at Β£112, so it’s pretty good value! If you are someone that likes to dabble in high end skincare but have always been priced out, then here is your opportunity to give it a go!

Sjo Skin – Happy Honey Mask – Β£42 (Sjoskin.com)

If you spend any time at all on the gram, you will 100% recognise this mask. Beauty addicts across Instagram and the world swear by this and herald it as the best mask out there. This Swedish brand really encourages love and positivity in the beauty community and is one of the nicest, socially aware brands on Instagram at the moment. This is definitely one on my wish list!natural skincareOskia – Deluxe Travel Collection – Β£55 (Spacenk.com)

Oskia is another one of those brands that look gorgeous and are faves for people in the beauty industry… and they have the price tag to match! I love gift sets for trying out more high end brands as it gives you a great chance to try more products for a really good price. I really want to pick this one up for myself! This set contains Nutri-Active Day Cream, Renaissance Cleansing Gel, Micro Exfoliating Balm, Renaissance Mask and Super 16 Pro Collagen Serum, all in travel size and it comes in a really lovely bag.

Mario Badescu – The Brightening Kit – Β£34.50 (Beauty Bay)

Mario Badescu is a really great brand for people with acne prone skin and loved by loads of celebrities. When I had acne, their Glycolic Foaming Cleanser was my go-to product to keep my acne in check and I would always notice it worsen when I didn’t use it. I chose this kit specifically because it had the glycolic cleanser, also because it’s a brand that I had so much faith in when my skin wasn’t at its best. The products in this kit can be used by any skin type, especially the glycolic products and the vitamin C serum.Mario Badescu The Brightening Kit

Kiehls – Holiday Skincare Set – Β£47.50 (Kiehls.co.uk, Selfridges, Feelunique)

If you’re a newbie to Kiehls, or are a harcore lover (like me), this is a great gift set for you, your mum, your auntie, your hairdresser, ANYONE. It contains loads of amazing minis to try, including my faaaavourite product ever (Midnight Recovery Oil) which you definitely need in your life. Kiehls’ products are so beautiful and high quality, and if you have never tried them before, they are GREAT with samples if you order from them directly. There are a few other sets on the websites for your body and hands, so pick the one that’s best for you!

kiehls-skincare-set.jpg

Dr Jart+ – Ceramidin range – Β£5.50 – Β£35 (Selfridges, ASOS)

If you are a dry skin babe, then Dr Jart’s Ceramidin range is perfect for you. It has been developed for extremely dry skin and whenever you apply anything from them, it feels like your skin is saying ‘aaaaaah’ with a cocktail in a bathrobe. If you are on a bit of a tighter budget, then the Dr Jart Ceramidin face mask is only Β£5.50 and will give your skin an instant moisture boost. Alternatively, if you’re after a great, fairly thick moisturiser, then the Ceramidin Cream is your gal.

Beauty Pie (beautypie.com)

I know the idea of a subscription service can leave some people cold, but Beauty Pie is exceptional. If you are a self-proclaimed skincare addict, this is definitely something you want to try out. You can cancel your subscription for free after 3 months and you get access to an amazing range of top quality products. The Japanfusion line is heralded as the best one (which I’ve tried and it is good), but my absolute favourite is the Plantastic Apricot Cleansing Balm.

BEAUTYPIE_Plantastic_Apricot_Butter_Cleansing_Balm_968500_460_1I hope this guide has been useful for all you skincare fanatics out there! Maybe don’t buy anything until Black Friday now, because I’m sure you can get a better deal then! Let me know which skincare bits and pieces you’ll be picking up this Christmas!

Christmas gift guides – the makeup addict

If you are a true lover of makeup, or know someone who is, here are some amazing Christmas gift ideas that they are sure to love! WARNING: This may or may not be palette heavy, and your bank account may not love you afterwards.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palettes – Β£69 each (SpaceNK.com, Liberty London, Selfridges, John Lewis, Feelunique.com)

Depending on your skin tone, one of these palettes is one you need. Hourglass products are so beautiful and are such cult favourites. The new Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit volume 4 is perfect for anyone with light to medium skin tones. Likewise, the new Unlocked palette has been hailed as the palette that darker ladies have been waiting for, and it is absolutely GORGEOUS. If you aren’t purchasing for yourself, consider carefully which one would suit your loved one best, especially if they are more medium/tan as they could be on the boardline for both!

Beauty Bay Colour Theory palettes – Β£25 each (Beauty Bay)

Beauty Bay has finally released their own line of makeup! (AND IT’S ACTUALLY AMAZING!) There are three palettes – Origin, Evolve and Identity – and they are 42 shades for Β£25(!). The problem with palettes is you often are unsure on how to create multiple looks… but wth these palettes, each column represents an entire look, and each row is where to put the shade (transition, crease, highlight etc.) The pigmentation is actually amazing for a palette that is so cheap, so it’s a great gift if you’re on a budget too!

Jouer Lip Topper in Frost Bite – Β£13.50 (Beauty Bay, Cult Beauty)

I got a set of mini Jouer lip toppers for Christmas last year and this was by far my favourite. It goes with absolutely every lip colour and lasts a really long time. I still haven’t gotten through all of my mini one. If you don’t fancy just a clear gloss with white sparkle, the rest of the shades are absolutely gorgeous too (especially Skinny Dip, which is probably their most famous shade).

Jouer Cosmetics Long-Wear Lip Topper Frost Bite

Dose of Colours Katy x Desi Friendcation Palette – Β£44 (Beauty Bay)

This is a beautiful palette that has really grown on me recently. The colours are absolutely beautiful and perfect for both winter and the party season. A lot of beauty gurus have been recommending this asΒ the palette that you need and I’ve fallen for this one hard. It’s a really good mix of mattes and shimmers, and the colour story is quite different to what we’ve been seeing. There have been soooo many reviews and tutorials on youtube, particularly using the blue, and itΒ actuallyΒ seems to be a blue that swatches as a true bright blue, and not transform into a deep navy mess. The temptation to buy this myself is UNREAL (probably will tbh lol).

Dose of Colors Desi & Katy Friendcation Eyeshadow Palette

MAC Shiny Pretty Things Face Compact – Β£29

This year’s holiday collection from MAC is amazing and this holiday face palette is GORGEOUS! I popped in store and swatched it and it’s unbelievably beautiful. There are three shades, a rose gold highlight, a golden-pink blush and a warm bronzer. There is a fair paletteΒ (pictured below) and a medium/dark one. It creates the most gorgeous effect on your cheeks and I’m completely in love. On my fair skin (NC15), the bronzer (which looks really dark) is the perfect colour to make my skin looks bronzed but not muddy, the highlight is a beautiful pop and the blush is a bright pink/coral that is reallllllly pigmented. Keep an eye out for discounts on this – I managed to get this for Β£14 on ASOS because there was 15% and I had a Β£10 voucher!

Kevyn Aucoin Nudepop The Molten Lip Colour Mini Collection – Β£24 (Space NK)

I have been eyeing up Keyvn Aucoin lip glosses for a long time, specifically the one on the left (that golden redish pink)! For Β£24, you get 5 lipgloss minis that are a really fair size and will take you ages to get through! They will work really well on their own or on top of a lipstick. The left three look as though they have a slight shift so they’ll really enhance any lip!

Colourpop Yes, Please! – $16 (colourpop.com)

I stumbled across this palette on someone’s Instagram and FELL. IN. LOVE. This palette is a little harder for us Brits to get our hands on, but Colourpop do offer free shipping on orders over $50 which is veeery easy to exceed on their website. The colours in this palette are probably more appropriate for summer, but who even cares? The warm tones of this palette will warm you up this winter. I’ve heard from my friends on Instagram and from beauty gurus on Youtube that Colourpop shadows have excellent pigmentation, and are super budget friendly. I will be picking this one up on Black Friday.

Hourglass Vanish Flash Highlighting Stick – Β£38 (SpaceNK.com, John Lewis, Selfridges, Liberty London, Feelunique.com)

I swatched this a few months ago in Libertys and FELL. IN. LOVE. This is now my go-to highlighter that I literally have to apply every single time I wear makeup. The shade I have is Gold Light which just gives you the most stunning golden glow. I find that this shade is what my skin would really look like if the sun were to hit my cheekbones. There are five shades total, ranging from more champagne-gold tones to more pink-orange tones, so there is something for every skin tone and every preference. The price tag on this one is pretty steep, but it’s definitely worth the splurge if you’re a highlighter addict!

Image result for vanish highlighting stick gold flash

I know this has been very palette friendly and lacking on complexion products, but I wanted to try and make this list something that any beauty addict, regardless of skin colour or type could enjoy. Foundations/primers/powders are often tailored to specific skin concerns, and what I personally would use and love would not work for everyone.

I hope you enjoyed this! Let me know what you are going to be picking up this Christmas!
